Sustainability - Sustainable Technologies
The superior performance and durability of Unibond RE contributes to environmental sustainability by keeping carpet in service longer -- and out of the waste system. It's rare when a product's performance directly enhances its environmental sustainability qualities, but Unibond RE accomplishes this feat quite nicely. And Unibond RE comes with a lifetime, non-prorated warranty -- an impressive display of the confidence Lees has in the product's performance capabilities.
To preserve and protect the environment, Unibond RE:
Contains a minimum 20% post-consumer recycled content by total product weight* (*certified by Scientific Certifications Systems, view certification documents)
Meets USGBC LEED criteria for recycled content
Meets USGBC LEED - CI (Commerical Interiors) for Indoor Environmental Quality Credit 4: Passes CRI Green Label Plus
Passes the VOC limits of South Coast Air Quality Management District Rule #1168
Uses no water in the manufacturing process
Complies with the most rigorous manufacturing air quality standard - Class 1
Reduces our dependency on petrochemicals by 10 million pounds each year, by incorporating a rapidly renewable bio-based resource

To provide the highest level of performance, Unibond RE:
Eliminates edge ravel
Maintains tuft bind, wet or dry
Protects against delamination
Impervious to moisture
Doesn't promote the growth of mold or mildew
Lees Integrated Cushion Thermobond (ICT) is the ultra dense cushion backing system engineered to give Lees Squared and Lees6 carpets superior performance. Only the best performing materials are used to construct the five layer backing system designed to make our carpets last for life. Lees Integrated Cushion Thermobond with Recycled Content gives you the same performance features as regular ICT with the added benefits of recycled content. Select carpet styles are produced with recycled content ranging from 35% to 40% based on total product weight. Customers can request additional styles with no increase in cost.
ICT benefits include:
A moisture barrier
Edge ravel protection
Tuft bind protection
Guaranteed never to cup, dome or dish when used in carpet tile
Lees Integrated Cushion Thermobond carpet tiles utilize celceram or "coal fly ash", a valuable resource produced at America's electric power plants that is used to cost effectively improve the quality of many building materials and floor coverings. Celceram offers high performance properties with significantly increased levels of recycled content. The beneficial use of Celceram not only supports the EPA's and other federal agencies initiatives, it also contributes to the U.S. Green Building Council LEED rating system.
