USGBC and LEED
Lees Carpets is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC),
the building industry's only balanced, non-profit, consensus coalition
promoting the understanding, development and accelerated implementation
of green building policies, programs, technologies, standards and
design practices.
As a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, Lees has been involved
in the development of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
(LEED) Green Building Rating System. The LEED rating system is a voluntary,
consensus- based national standard for developing high performance,
sustainable buildings. Members of the U.S. Green Building Council
representing all segments of the building industry developed LEED
and continue to contribute to its evolution. LEED standards are currently

a number of topics in the design and contruction of new
buildings to reduce the environmental footprint and increase
the well being of the occupants. |

- EB (Existing Buildings) is a set of performance standards for the sustainable operation of existing buildings. The LEED - EB criteria cover building operations and systems upgrades in existing buildings where the majority of interior or exterior surfaces remain unchanged. |

- CI (Commerical Interiors) addresses a number of topics in the design and construction of tenant
build-outs in leased office space. |
LEED provides a complete framework for assessing building performance and meeting sustainability goals.

development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality. LEED
recognizes achievements and promotes expertise in green building through a comprehensive system offering
project certification, professional accreditation, training and practical resources.
